Job Description

Position Summary:
Under general supervision this position is responsible for providing administrative and credentialing support for the activities of the Medical Staff. Processes medical staff appointment and reappointment applications for staff membership and privileges and all duties surrounding this responsibility, including provider enrollment with third party payors. Makes updates to medical staff bylaws, Rules & Regulations and Policies based on actions taken by Medical Staff. Performs various office management duties including assistance in preparing for meetings, filing, forms development and updating, meeting minutes and employee data base management. Excellence in Practice Processes medical staff appointment and reappointment applications for staff membership and privileges including primary source verification. Maintains credentials files including maintaining continuous current copies of new licenses, DEA, liability insurance. Monitors and revises credentialing and privileging forms and functions as needed to ensure consistency and in accordance with regulatory agency guidelines. Demonstrates skill and efficiency in scheduling, attending and recording minutes for medical staff meetings and committee meetings and preparing board reports after each medical staff meeting. Accurately and timely tracks physician continuing education and meeting attendance. Completes requests for references on physicians who have practiced here. Updates Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations and Policies based on changes approved by Medical Staff. Completes all provider enrollment applications and revalidations for third party payors to ensure "in-network" status when appropriate. Performs various office management duties including assistance in preparing for meetings, filing, forms development and updating, meeting minutes.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
High School graduate
Experience:
Clerical experience preferred. Must have good computer and word processing, spreadsheet skills. Exhibit a high degree of confidentiality. Must possess superb organizational skills with a high level of detail. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively and efficiently with healthcare professionals both in and out of the hospital environment. Must be motivated as well as a self-starter who can work independently; however capable and willing to take direction as appropriate. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must have the ability to identify and work to solve problems as they arise.
Normal Working Hours:
8am - 5pm
Starting Salary Range:
