Medication Aide

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory care challenges. Responsibilities Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare providers while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and document vital signs and report any significant changes in residents' health status. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide support for tube feeding and catheter care as needed. Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient patient record management. Engage with residents to promote social interaction and emotional well-being. Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents at all times. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is preferred. Familiarity with caregiving practices for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs is essential. Experience with medication administration and understanding of medical documentation processes is required. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems; experience with Epic or Cerner is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
