Member Services Representative - Summer

The Bedford Area Family YMCA is seeking an energetic, hands-on, motivated person to fill the position of Member Services Representative for the summer shifts on various days and some weekends with the possibility of continueing on after summer. Under the direction of the Member Services Director, the applicant would supervise the day-to-day operations of the front desk area by assisting in organizing and maintaining high-quality YMCA programs and policies of memberships and guests. They will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety, engagement, and satisfaction. Finally, they know and exhibit the YMCA Mission through programs that strive for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS

One to two years of related experience in customer service background preferred. At least 18 years of age.

Certifications in:

Current CPR, AED, and First-Aid Certifications preferred but employees will be trained in the above

SKILLS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to communicate verbally, on the phone, and in writing. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform activities that require sustained concentration and attention. Ability to use multiple computer programs, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Google Calendar, Email, etc. Data entry skills and basic computer proficiency using standard word processing (Word and Excel) Ability to take cash, check, and card payments, make change, and be accountable to reconcile a shift Ability to deal with customers and members in a professional manner in person, on the phone, and in emails High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to learn and use YMCA software programs Math and calculator proficiency Knowledge of filing and basic office procedures, the ability to use the copier, and the ability to use a company phone system Obtain and maintain required training and demonstrate YMCA Leadership Competencies for the Member Services Representative position. Dress code Business casual, YMCA shirts, pants may be jeans or slacks with no holes
