The Membership Associate supports the mission of the Foothills Area YMCA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through community development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members, guests, and program participants while providing exceptional customer service and support The Membership Associate is responsible for responding to member and guest needs, promoting YMCA memberships and programs, assisting with registrations and account maintenance, and helping connect individuals and families with resources that support their health and wellness goals. This role plays an important part in building positive relationships and ensuring every member has a friendly and supportive experience at theYMCA. OUR CULTURE

Responds to the individual needs of the other person. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships. Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y. Serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services. May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS WHO DIRECTLY SUPERVISE YOUTH WILL
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth. Attend required abuse risk management training. Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements .EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS WHO DO NOT DIRECTLY SUPERVISE YOUTH WILL
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth. Attend required abuse risk management training. Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. Maintenance employees and volunteers—ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker rooms and bathrooms, hallways, stairwells), etc. Front desk personnel—ensure youth are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc .QUALIFICATIONS
Previous customer service, sales, or related experience. CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 60 days of hire. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Basic knowledge of computers. Weekday and weekend availability and flexibility during regular facility hours.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
