Job Description
SKOPOS Care is a structured, trauma-informed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) serving youth in Kentucky. We are committed to building brighter futures through skilled staff, structured environments, and compassionate care. Our team works collaboratively to provide safe, supportive, and clinically sound treatment to adolescents aged 10-15 years old with complex behavioral health needs.
Position Summary:
The Mental Health Associate (MHA) provides direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting. MHAs are responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting residents in daily living skills, behavioral interventions, and supervised self-administration of medication under nursing oversight.Essential Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision of youth in a residential setting Maintain structured daily schedules and routines Implement Safe Crisis Management and verbal de-escalation techniques Assist with daily activities Supervise resident self-administration of medications under RN oversight Accurately document observations and incidents Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment Participate in treatment team communication Conduct room checks and safety checks Transport residents as needed (if applicable) 1 on call day/night a monthMedication Supervision Duties:
Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff,MHAs:
Verify resident identity during medication pass Observe ingestion of medication Document medication administration accurately Report refusals or concerns immediately Follow facility medication safety procedures (Training and competency validation provided.) Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license (if transporting) Ability to pass background/CAN check and drug screening CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain through the company) Must have 2 years of experience in a related field or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field to qualify for the MHA position.
