About Takoma Therapy:
Takoma Therapy is a black-owned, woman-owned private group practice dedicated to providing holistic, trauma-focused care to our diverse community. Situated in Takoma Park, at the intersection of Washington, D.C., and Maryland, our practice is a short walk from the metro, surrounded by a vibrant community with restaurants, shops, and yoga studios. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive environment where therapists can thrive both professionally and personally.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Therapist at Takoma Therapy, you will:
Provide Psychotherapy:
Offer individual, couples, or group therapy sessions to clients aged 8 through older adults, utilizing modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other evidence-based interventions. See between 22-25 clients a week in a hybrid work setting. Focus on
Clinical Excellence:
Dedicate your time to developing and honing therapeutic skills and maintaining accurate client records. We are an in-network provider for CareFirst/Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna insurance plans but we handle all aspects of billing and marketing.
Collaborate and Assess:
Engage in thorough assessment processes to determine the best fit between therapist and client, ensuring personalized and effective care. We encourage our therapists to take a 3 session approach to assessment and to choose who they work with.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
Must hold a valid Maryland license (LCPC, LMFT, LCSW-C, Psy
D, LGSW, LMSW, LGPC
). Licenses in D.C. or Virginia are advantageous; we offer reimbursement for obtaining additional licenses.
Experience:
While prior therapy experience is preferred, we provide comprehensive training and support for therapists at all stages of their careers.
Trauma-Informed Care:
Training or experience in trauma-informed care is desirable.

Monthly educational sessions and workshops.
Supervision:
Weekly individual supervision and bi-weekly group supervision.
CEU Support:
As an ASWB-approved CEU provider, we provide one monthly educational CEU, and after one year of employment we offer $500 annually towards continuing education.

Work-Life Balance:
Flexible scheduling with 2-3 evenings or a weekend availability preferred. For safety, the last in-person appointment is at 7:00 PM, with later sessions conducted remotely.

Quarterly in-person team-building activities, monthly meditation group, educational session with CEUs, and a movement session with a yoga therapist are available to support therapist well-being.

Pay:
$53.00 - $60.00 per hour
