Merchandiser

Job Summary Merchandisers perform general stocking and replenishment of products. This process also includes moving and lifting freight, stock, and other materials.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive all merchandise that comes into the store. Ensure that all merchandise is unloaded and stored according to company procedures.
• Maintain clean product storage areas and goods received o Including but not limited to: taking out trash, sweeping floors, disposing of boxes, and orderly product backstock.
• Assist in upholding the Travel Center's tidy appearance, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms as needed. Provide customer service as needed while merchandising on the store floor.
• Stock shelves on the sales floor with goods, keeping inventory replenished, clean, forward-facing, and rotated according to the FIFO method.
• Adopt the appropriate and effective display techniques.
• Assist cashiers as needed with completing customers transactions, locating stock, and cleaning-related duties as needed.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms as needed.
• Assist with training of new Travel Center staff as requested by management.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

• Attendance is an essential function of this role.
• Basic math skills required.
• Excellent customer service skills & communication skills.
• Ability to maintain an organized working environment, minimizing product waste.
• Ability to be flexible and work under pressure.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• This is considered a non-safety sensitive position.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of online and on-the-job training required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long hours.
• Capable of lifting heavy merchandise up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to perform physical activities which require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the entire body.

This could include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
