Process Control Technician

Job Description

Job Title:
Process Control Technician Key Roles and Responsibilities Above all, ensure a safe work environment while complying with environmental and quality rules and policies (ISO14001, IATF16949, MIOSHA). Inspect product at all stages of the manufacturing process per standard procedures, work instruction and process sheets. Conduct non-conforming material isolation testing. Properly document and communicate all findings. Provide ownership/control of sintering process which includes, monitoring, adjusting, and troubleshooting sintering furnaces, lot control, and generators to produce conforming product. Issue Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) as needed, following internal procedure. Issue Special Process Authorization's (SPA) as needed to keep processes running while determining if an ECR is required for long-term correction. Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) including basic analysis of data. Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and productive manner. Perform inspection and analysis for special projects to support engineering, quality, and production. Communicate and share lessons learned throughout department. Understand and follow written, verbal, and visual process instructions. Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree or greater preferred.
  • Prior experience in a quality-based technician role strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required, experience within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience within powdered metal compaction environmental preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO14001 and
IATF16949
standards and documentation requirements
  • Knowledge of proper use of gauges.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Strong math skills Ability to read gauges
COMPUTER SKILLS
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Teams) Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Outlook (E-mail)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
