Job Description

Hardwood Designs has been a source of top-quality Architectural millwork in Hillsborough, North Carolina, since 1985. We are primarily a commercial millwork company. We are built on our reputation and seek high-character, team-minded individuals to help our company grow. INTEGRITY-QUALITY-DEDICATION-TEAMWORK
Position Overview:
We seek a skilled Microvellum Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will utilize Microvellum to model, draft and produce production files for shop fabrication. This position will work closely with the Project Managers and act as the primary Project Engineer on commercial architectural millwork projects.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret architectural construction documents to understand project requirements. Gather relevant information necessary for drafting, including material and hardware specifications. Model and draft casework and millwork based on architect drawings and project documents. Attend meetings and site visits to collect information for production purposes. Revise shop drawings by incorporating field dimensions and client feedback. Utilize Microvellum to generate CNC work orders and cut lists for manufacturing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects. Maintain organized files and documentation for easy reference and retrieval. Requirements to
Succeed:
Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and construction documents. Strong experience in modeling and drafting using Microvellum & AutoCad/BricsCad Ability to work independently and develop project portions with minimal supervision. Knowledge of architectural drafting and detailing techniques. Strong design skills with an eye for detail. Technical understanding of construction processes and materials. Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications (DOE). Negotiable salary depending on previous experience in architecture, cabinetry, casework, millwork, construction, etc. Dental, health, vision, and life insurance coverage provided. Paid time off benefits available.
Job Type and Schedule:
Full-time position with an 8-hour shift. Monday to Friday work schedule.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience using Microvellum Minimum of 1 year of experience using
AutoCAD or BricsCad Work Location:
This position requires in-person work at our Hillsborough location.
