Aug 1, 2026 Job Description Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School is seeking a motivated and dedicated educator to serve as a full time Middle School Language Arts Teacher. The ideal candidate enjoys working with middle school students and understands the important role teachers play in supporting the academic, social, and spiritual growth of each child. We are looking for a teacher who is organized, compassionate, and committed to helping students become confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. Position Overview This full time position requires presence at school Monday through Friday from 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM. Teachers are contracted for 190 days per school year, including:

• 170 student contact days
• 2 conference compensation days
• 12 professional development/inservice days
• 6 paid holidays The Middle School Language Arts Teacher will lead instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and literature for middle school students.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, assessing student progress, fostering strong communication skills, and creating an engaging classroom environment that encourages discussion, analysis, and a love of learning. This teacher will also support cross-curricular connections and help students develop skills in organization, study habits, and independent thinking that prepare them for high school success. Collaboration is an important part of our school culture. Teachers work closely with colleagues, administration, and support staff to ensure students receive strong academic guidance and a well rounded educational experience. Faith Environment Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School is rooted in the Catholic tradition. While applicants are not required to be practicing Catholics, candidates should be comfortable supporting students in age appropriate faith development and participating in the spiritual life of the school community.
