Use the current body of knowledge in cultural diversity issues in teaching and curriculum development to design and adapt individual/group academic and behavior/social programs in all school settings. Diagnose the instructional needs of all students and devise appropriate learning activities for each student. Use a variety of approaches to assess, record and provide feedback promptly and often to students on their progress and assignments. Participate in development and implementation of individual student plans (e.g., IEP, 504). Assume responsibility for adapting and modifying classroom instruction for students identified as needing specialized instruction. Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations. Assume responsibility for assigned duties, e.g., hall, lunchroom, bus duty. Utilize technology as related to job responsibilities. Train and act as lead worker for Educational Assistants. Reflect upon own teaching performance and accept and utilize supervisory suggestions and feedback. Take primary responsibility for pursuing and evaluating own professional growth. Attend and participate in staff meetings and MLA in-service meetings. Participate in activities that are related to school functions and/or the education process that occur outside the regular workday. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Oregon teacher's license with Mathematics endorsement: OR Charter Registry registered with Teachers Standard Practices Commission. Advanced Math endorsement preferred. Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory and brain research. Content knowledge in Mathematics. Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work. Ability to work with other staff members. Standard First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within two months of hire, may be required.

SALARY, HOURS, APPLICATION AND REPORTING

Salaried/ one FTE. $44,000.00 - $62,620.15 Compensation based upon MLA salary schedule. Experience pay available. 12 month pay schedule. If enrollment increases, FTE could be increased during the year.

Hours of operation:

Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Reports to the Principal. (may report to the Executive Director. Superintendent, or Vice Principal, if Principal is not available) MLA Middle Campus, 3240 S. Troutdale, Oregon 97080
