Aug 17, 2026 Job Description NMHS Resource Room Special Education Teacher MSAD60 is looking for a certified special education teacher to work collaboratively to provide special education instruction to students in grades 7/8 at Noble Middle High School in North Berwick, Maine. This teaching position works with and supports students who have mild to moderate disabilities that impact academic, behavior, and executive functioning acquisition.A typical day could include:
teaching students in small groups with a focus on Mathematical and Language Arts skills (Seeing Stars, LiPPS, Number Worlds, Framing Your Thoughts, etc.); teaching students regulation and coping strategies aching them to process through social emotional problems; and supporting students as they increase their independence. This instruction could be either in the special education or regular education setting. In addition to providing the education for students in grades 7-8, this position is an integral part of the Noble Middle High School Special Education Team. In particular, this person would staff a learning center with two other special educators and a couple of educational technicians. These educators oversee educational technicians; provide professional development opportunities for the educational technicians; share resources (materials/staff) across teams / grade levels / content areas to support all students' needs; and seamlessly support each other's needs throughout the day.Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
Special Education Law Knowledge Complete paperwork (Written Notices, IEPs, etc) to meet regulatory requirements Data Collection for academic, functional, and behavioral goals Strong understanding of literacy skill progression Strong understanding of Mathematical skill progression Collaborative Work Ethic Ability to provide professional development Knowledge of best teaching practices for identified students Supervision, Coaching, and Support for Educational Technicians Collaborate with service providers to create individualized schedules for students to ensure all IEP requirements are met. Advocate for students within the larger academic community.Qualifications:
Special education teacher certification in the state of Maine (282) Master's in Special Education or a willingness to work towards a Master's degree.Position Type:
