Location:
- North Berwick, ME (On-site)
Schedule:
Monday & Wednesday:
9:00 AM- 6:15 PM
Tuesday & Thursday:
7:00 AM- 4:00 PM
Friday:
7:00 AM- 2:00 PM
Employment Type:
- Contract-to-Hire (4 months)

- $17.00
- $20.00/hour (with opportunity for conversion)
- Position Overview
- We are seeking a
- Patient Service Specialist
- to deliver exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Provide clear guidance on appointment expectations and next steps during check-in and check-out
- Schedule appointments both in person and via phone
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain authorizations as needed
- Collect co-pays and counsel patients on financial responsibilities at time of service
- Prepare intake documentation ahead of patient visits to ensure timely processing
- Communicate with external partners including insurance providers, attorney offices, and translation services
- Support daily administrative operations to maintain efficient patient flow and revenue cycle continuity
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to quality assurance standards
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized front office environment
- Required Qualifications
- Strong
- customer service orientation
- with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage conversations with patients in a professional, empathetic manner-even in challenging situations
- Experience in a
- customer-facing or professional work environment
- (retail, hospitality, healthcare, or similar)
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable navigating multiple systems and using office equipment (phones, copiers, fax machines)
- Typing speed of at least
- 40 WPM
- Basic math and understanding of bookkeeping or accounts receivable principles
- Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare, patient access, or medical office settings
- Experience with insurance verification or patient registration systems
- Bachelor's degree (new grads welcome with strong customer service exposure)

- The pay range for this position is $17.00
