SUMMARY:
Middle school yearbook advisor job description
Supervision and Guidance:
Oversee all aspects of yearbook production, including layout and design, copy, photography, publicity, sales, and distribution. Provide guidance and mentorship to student staff, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Train students in various yearbook roles and responsibilities. Help students develop skills that extend beyond yearbook production.
Content and Quality:
Ensure the yearbook content is accurate, relevant, and appropriate. Collaborate with students to develop a theme and style guide. Review and edit content, ensuring high-quality standards. Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
Planning and Organization:
Develop an annual yearbook calendar and plan for yearbook activities. Manage the yearbook budget. Coordinate with school administration and other stakeholders. Manage student leadership and roles.
Sales and Marketing:
Promote yearbook sales opportunities. Manage student-created sales campaigns.
Communication and Liaison:
Communicate clearly and often with the yearbook staff. Serve as a liaison between the yearbook staff, school administration, and yearbook publishers. Handle public relations issues and feedback from the community.
Other Duties:
Participate in continuous study and attend conferences or workshops to maintain knowledge and enhance skills. Promote awareness about the yearbook by providing information to the principal and other relevant audiences. Supervise students during and after school work sessions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises students during all school-related activities and teacher associates and volunteers as appropriate.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree is desired.
