You will primarily perform MIG welding on custom parts using mostly thin gauge materials in the manufacturing process. These systems are designed for heavy manufacturing companies and may include welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and other materials. The position requires experience in reading prints, performing layout, tacking, and welding seams. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on thin gauge materials, including stainless and carbon steel. Read and interpret blueprints for layout and construction. Assist fabricators and operate equipment such as shears, press brakes, grinders, rollers, and saws. Work with galvanized 16 to 14 gauge sheet metal and duct work. Utilize tape measures with precision and have some blueprint experience. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in custom welding. Proficiency in MIG welding and thin gauge metal fabricating. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use a tape measure accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with press operators, plasma cutters, drills, and saws. Work Environment The position is based in a metal shop environment, which includes welding and fabricating noise and smell. Employees work 11-12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, starting at 5 AM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
