Tutor w/ concentration on MEP/EL/Multi-lingual students
QUALIFICATIONS
Two Year Degree or 48 semester hours of college level coursework (preferred)
REPORTS TO
Federal Programs Director
JOB GOAL
Provide tutorial services to assist migrant students in achieving a better understanding of subject matter and to improve academic capabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain required records to document student attendance and academic progress. Assist with tutorial programs i.e. Rosetta Stone, Imagine Learning, Calculators, educational games etc. Provide instructional and social emotional support to migrant students in areas identified by the regular education teacher from student assessments. Stay in contact with the student's teachers and share information, concerns etc. with them. Contact the Federal Programs Assistant Director or Migrant Recruiter with any concerns regarding students being served Work with the district Migrant Recruiter to set schedule of service to students Maintain the confidentiality of all student-related information.
Terms of Employment:
15-30 hours a week/Ten-month employment/At Will/FLSA Non-Exempt Starting Salary and/or
Grade:
$15.00/Hour Non-Certified $25.00/
Hour Certified Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board and local policy on evaluation of personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Patience and a positive attitude towards the student and subject area. Ability to be punctual, dependable, and flexible. Demonstrate interest in helping others succeed and be open to learn more about languages. Ability to work with people of diverse cultures and learn more about other cultures. Serve as a linguist model for students and tutor in all language skills, in an easy-to-understand way without overwhelming the students. Ability to work in other subject areas, and help/guide students.
