Job Description

Position Summary A mining and mineral processing operation is seeking an experienced Mill Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities for fixed plant and mill process equipment. This role supervises millwright personnel, supports operational reliability, and helps ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities Supervise preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance activities for mill fixed equipment assets. Directly oversee hourly maintenance employees and coordinate daily work assignments. Support maintenance leadership functions in the absence of senior maintenance personnel. Partner with operations and planning teams to improve maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability. Coordinate onsite and offsite contractor maintenance activities. Ensure maintenance work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed. Monitor compliance with preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment availability. Respond to breakdowns and urgent repairs to minimize operational downtime. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment maintenance practices. Collaborate with planning and inventory teams to maintain adequate spare parts availability. Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, and workplace safety. Conduct inspections of maintenance work and projects to ensure reliability and workmanship standards are met. Complete required documentation and CMMS data entry, including shift reports, material requests, and timekeeping records. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, risk assessments, and SOP development activities. Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, environmental standards, company policies, and site procedures. Promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship throughout all maintenance activities. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and support teams. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical associate degree preferred. 3-5 years of maintenance experience required. Experience in a mineral processing or industrial processing facility preferred. Knowledge of underground hard rock mining equipment and associated maintenance practices preferred. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with CMMS or ERP systems preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license required. Ability to complete required MSHA training and pass pre-employment screening requirements. Additional site-specific clearances or certifications may be required. Work Environment This position operates in an active mining and mineral processing environment and requires adherence to strict safety, environmental, and operational standards. Candidates must be comfortable working closely with maintenance and operations personnel in a heavy industrial setting.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
