Mine Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator Mine Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator The Mine Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator focuses on ensuring the consistent performance and reliability of systems and equipment within the organization. In this role, you analyze data to identify potential failures, implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies, and develop improvement plans to enhance operational uptime. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and integrate best practices that promote long-term reliability and efficiency. As the Mine Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator, you coordinate maintenance planning, scheduling readiness, and work management activities to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the mine's mobile fleet, fixed plant assets, and site facilities. You partner with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, HSE, and Reliability/Engineering to align priorities, remove execution constraints, and improve schedule compliance, backlog health, and asset availability. In addition, you support and coordinate the maintenance interface for all ore railway transport systems and associated infrastructure (such as track, switches, crossings, loading/unloading interfaces, and right-of-way assets) to ensure uninterrupted ore movement, regulatory compliance, and timely defect remediation.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Mine Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator, are to: + Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective work, including task sequencing, labor estimates, tools and equipment, permits and controls, and required parts; + Verify work orders are complete, properly prioritized, ready to schedule, and create and maintain weekly and longer-range schedules aligned with production priorities, outages/shutdowns, and resource availability; + Manage
CMMS/EAM
work management by creating, reviewing, and maintaining work orders, job plans, asset hierarchy, equipment history, and master data, while ensuring consistent coding and high-quality closeout documentation; + Coordinate with Supply Chain, warehouse, and contractors to confirm materials and services are available before scheduling, support critical spares strategies, and prepare clear work packages and mobilization plans; + Coordinate planning and work management for mine facilities and site infrastructure (such as buildings, utilities, shops, offices, water systems, and site services), ensuring requests are prioritized, scheduled, and closed out in the
CMMS/EAM
; + Support maintenance planning for ore railway transport systems and right-of-way assets by logging and tracking defects, inspections, and corrective actions, and liaising with internal stakeholders and external rail/contract services; + Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, participate in failure investigations and maintenance strategy reviews, and track and report maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement; + Ensuring planned work aligns with site safety standards, OEM recommendations, and regulatory requirements by incorporating hazard controls, isolation/LOTO, permits, and environmental controls into job plans and promoting a safety-first culture.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of mine maintenance planning/scheduling, maintenance coordination, or related maintenance experience in mining or heavy industry; + Working knowledge of maintenance work management processes, including work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout; + Experience using a
CMMS/EAM
system (for example, SAP or Oracle) for work orders, job plans, and reporting; + Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel capability preferred for tracking and reporting; + Demonstrated ability to coordinate across departments and clearly communicate priorities, constraints, and schedule impacts; + Strong commitment to safety and ability to incorporate permits, isolations/LOTO, and critical controls into work packages; + Valid driver's license, if required for site travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Maintenance Planning & Scheduling certification or SMRP-aligned training; + Experience supporting major shutdowns/outages or large mobile equipment fleets; + Experience coordinating facilities and infrastructure maintenance in an industrial or mine site environment; + Experience supporting ore railway transport assets (such as track, crossings, and loading/unloading interfaces) and/or familiarity with rail inspection and defect management processes; + Phosphate mine operations experience. Position will be posted until xxxx. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $71,120.00 - $106,680.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
