Job Description

JOB TITLE
Mine Underground General Supervisor
LOCATION
Michigan (Upper Peninsula)
MAIN PURPOSE
: The mine underground operations general supervisor leads and supports front-line employees in executing daily mining activities safely, efficiently, and to plan. Supervisors at Eagle set the tone for safety, teamwork, and performance. Guiding, coaching, and supporting their employees to achieve results while maintaining a positive, respectful workplace. They are the visible link between leadership intent and field execution, ensuring operational excellence through care, consistency, and communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to safety, respect, integrity, and excellence. Communicate daily goals, expectations, and changes clearly to the employees. Encourage open communication, active involvement, and idea sharing. Provide quality safety leadership for the mine site by ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors, maintaining compliance with MSHA and all other safety regulations, and proactively identifying and addressing hazards to sustain a safe work environment. Provide timely feedback, recognition, and coaching to support employee growth. Promote accountability and ownership for safe, high-quality work. Support shift handovers and ensure company communications are passed down. Visible and engaged in the field. Ensure the mine operates within all regulatory permits and standards and maintains the highest level of environmental compliance Ensure effective direction, communication and oversee the functions of mine personnel to ensure all activities are being carried out in accordance with the safety systems, specified operating plans and that the daily, weekly, and monthly targets are being achieved Monitor and manage production equipment needs; work with mobile maintenance department to ensure increased equipment availability Monitor and manage shift production and time usage reports; utilization of Deswik.

OPS to monitor operations Drive initiatives to optimize existing business systems, processes, and equipment to improve the overall performance of the operations Manage costs according to annual budgets, maintain accurate cost reporting, and report variances monthly Monitor and report on project progress, implementation schedules, resources required, and participate in tours Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. Degree in Mining Engineering and/or equivalent combination of experience and training 10
  • 12 years of experience in mining operations and/or engineering Minimum of 3-5 years in an underground operation's supervisory role or technical services leadership role Strong computer skills preferred Experience with SAP preferred

HSEC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Everyone in the workplace is responsible for his or her own safety and for the safety of their co-workers. Employees are responsible for performing all tasks in accordance with relevant HSEC Site Procedures, to work safely and keep the workplace safe. Eagle Mine, LLC is responsible for determining steps required to ensure health and safety of all employees, protection of the environment, and the community. Specifically, all employees must: Accept personal responsibility for HSEC Identify hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions that could result in damage to property, injury, impacts to the environment, and the community Obey any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others, protection of the environment and the community. Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn't cause undue community impacts. Participate in HSEC training provided to them Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
