Mobile Crisis Response Clinician
CSUS ICS

Job Duties:
Mobile Crisis Response:
Respond to mobile crisis calls from adults experiencing mental health, substance use (including opioid-related), or developmental disability-related emergencies, working collaboratively with a peer support specialist to deliver compassionate, person-centered care in community settings.Assessment & Intervention:
Conduct on-site evaluations to assess crisis level, identify needs and natural supports, and implement solution-focused strategies to resolve crises, teach coping skills, and develop contingency and safety plans.Clinical Support & Follow-Up:
Provide individualized clinical support and follow-up care through active listening, collaborative response planning, and linkage to ongoing treatment and recovery services.Resource Connection & Treatment Engagement:
Facilitate engagement between individuals utilizing opiates and the Center for Substance Use Services for treatment, actively re-engage those previously connected to CSUS, and coordinate access to internal and external community resources to strengthen recovery networks.Data Collection & Collaboration:
Collect and track opioid use data required by grant funding, complete accurate documentation, and maintain regular participation in staff meetings, training, and clinical supervision with both the Center for Substance Use Services and the Enhanced Mobile Crisis team.Qualifications Qualifications and Skills Educational and Licensure Requirements:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in a related field with experience in mental health services and crisis response. Must maintain a valid driver's license and active auto insurance at all times, with the ability to travel to various community locations.Other Qualifications and Skills:

Highly adaptable, confident, and effective in fast-paced, unpredictable environments with rapidly evolving client needs.Relationship Building:
Possesses strong interpersonal and engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, foster hope, and support client recovery and resilience journeys.Trauma-Informed Care:
Solid understanding of trauma-informed principles, including the ability to provide empathetic support and maintain appropriate professional boundaries during crises.Communication & Documentation:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document clearly, accurately, and professionally in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.Workplace Environment:
Exposure toRisk:
Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens, requiring adherence to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.Behavioral Challenges:
Must be prepared to work with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors and be ready to deploy crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.Travel & Physical Demand:
Regular local travel to varied indoor and outdoor settings, including client homes, and ability to drive safely in different conditions; must also be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.Emergency Response:
Must be prepared to recognize and respond to medical or behavioral emergencies, including knowing when and how to contact emergency services.
