Job Description
Overview The Mental Health Scheduling Coordinator position provides coverage in the Staffing Office at the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital. The Staffing Office is open 24/7 and responsible for ensuring adequate staffing of the Nursing Staff on the inpatient psychiatric units among other related duties. It is considered an essential position due to the nature of the work and is required to always have an employee present.
This position is currently operating under 12-hour shifts. Time and a half pay is included in hours worked over 40 hours in one week as well! There is a high degree of independence during work hours while also being part of an amazing, high functioning, and supportive team!

Environmental Factors Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting and with constant interruptions from telephone calls, visitors, and staff requiring assistance. May have brief communication/contact with hospitalized individuals when in the dedicated care areas of the facility. Some work outside of a regular work schedule may be required. Incumbents may be assigned to different shifts as required to provide 24-hour coverage and may be the sole representative of the Hospital readily available to the public. There may be periods of heavy workloads and tight deadlines. Working with the public in reception serves as the first point of contact for many visitors, employees, contractors, etc. who can be upset, confrontational, and/or in crisis. Interaction with patients and with their family members in emotional situations may entail some danger, discomfort, and emotional distress. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years or more performing administrative duties in a health care, human services, or government setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience with work schedule coordination or coordination of staffing in large scale operations. Reception/customer service experience.
