- The Mobile Crisis Therapist II at
LIFESKILLS GROUP
is responsible for providing immediate mental health crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing acute psychological distress. This role involves conducting assessments, delivering therapeutic interventions, and facilitating referrals to appropriate services, ensuring the safety and stabilization of clients in crisis situations.- Full Time position with scheduling options of 5x8-hour shifts or 3x12-hour shifts (possibility of 4x10 hour shifts).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine the needs and risks of individuals in crisis.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to stabilize clients and reduce immediate distress.
- Develop and implement individualized crisis plans in collaboration with clients and their support systems.
- Facilitate referrals and link clients to appropriate community resources and follow-up services.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including law enforcement, medical personnel, and social services, to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to crisis management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and interventions in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families to enhance understanding of mental health issues and promote recovery and resilience.
Qualifications Required Education:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention or emergency services.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with severe mental health issues.
- Proven track record of effectively managing high-stress situations and making quick, informed decisions.
- Familiarity with community resources and ability to coordinate with various service providers.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to evaluate mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in maintaining detailed and accurate records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Competency in using technology and electronic health records for documentation and communication.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
