This dynamic role offers the chance to lead engaging activities, foster a safe and inclusive environment, and make a lasting impact on young campers' summer experiences. As a key member of our team, you'll bring fun, safety, and educational growth to children while developing your leadership skills in a lively outdoor setting. Responsibilities Lead and supervise day camp activities, ensuring they are safe, inclusive, and engaging for children of diverse backgrounds. We have several weekly day camps that run M-F 9am-3pm. Supplies are picked up and our inventory office prior to camp and returned at the end of the camp day. Manage classroom or activity area behavior through effective behavior management techniques and classroom management skills. Provide first aid when necessary, maintaining safety protocols and responding promptly to medical or emergency situations. Must have a driver's license and reliable vehicle in order to get supplies and commute to camp locations throughout the area. Training on equipment and lessons is provided prior to camp. Pay rates vary based on experience and if you are taking on a lead or assistance counselor role. Skills Must have all required clearances to work with children in PA by June 5th including PA criminal background check, child abuse clearance, and FBI fingerprint and background check. We reimburse for clearance fees if you teach with us for the season! Ability to lift 50lbs (camp equipment loading) Strong classroom management abilities combined with experience in working with children of all ages. Knowledge of first aid procedures and certifications preferred; ability to respond swiftly in emergencies. Proven experience in teaching, tutoring, babysitting, or childcare roles that demonstrate patience and adaptability. Excellent behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and safe environment. Ability to think on your feet, solve problems solo as they arise, and lead camps without being micromanaged.

Pay:

$11.00 - $17.00 per hour
