!! Shuksan Veterinary is a mobile small animal ultrasound service now looking for a part time mobile assistant. We are a single doctor mobile ultrasound service that covers Island county, Whatcom county and Skagit Valley. It has always been a goal of Shuksan vet to maintain a low stress work environment that provides excellent work-life balance for our staff. We also are committed to bringing a much needed diagnostic tool to area veterinary clinics who do not have access to quality ultrasound diagnostics. We are on the road 2 to 3 days per week, and typical work days are 5-8 hours in length (6.5 hour average). We travel to various veterinary clinics in the area performing diagnostic ultrasounds and consulting with veterinary staff regarding their cases. In this position you will work with animals, veterinarians, and veterinary staff but there is little to no interaction with pet owners. There is no evening or weekend work required but evening case preparation and from home inbox coverage is available for interested candidates. Our current open position is for a Tues, Wed, +/_ Fri assistant for ~12-20 hours/week ($20

• 22/hour) based on experience.

There is potential for expansion into a 0.75 FTE administrative role for the right candidate. This role comes with more hours (24-30 hours/week) and a guaranteed base pay at the high end of the range ($23-26/hour) depending on experience and job responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

be at least 18 years of age and legally qualified to work in the US maintain a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and a commitment to obey traffic laws/posted speed limits while operating a company vehicle. at least 1 year of experience in the veterinary field with experience in animal handling and restraint. intermediate computer, word processing and typing skills especially google based systems

Responsibilities:

animal lifting (up to 40lbs unassisted), animal handling and animal restraint for ultrasound procedures set up and breakdown of mobile ultrasound equipment safe operation of a motor vehicle during the work day ultrasound image offloading and some data entry patient case review and preparation of case summaries for the sonographer minor stocking and inventory management occasional phone and scheduling coverage Ideal candidates will possess: excellent reliability and punctuality at the beginning of each shift 1-3 years of experience in the veterinary field quiet, patient and gentle animal handling skills (fear free training is required) the ability to read, understand and summarize veterinary medical records experience with restraint for intravenous drug administration an interest in veterinary imaging good interpersonal skills, experience answering phones and/or scheduling veterinary appointments positive work references an interest in future growth with the company and growth into an administrative position advanced computer skills, especially google based systems.
