Mold Maker - Mastercam

Mold Maker machines, fabricates, repairs, and maintains injection molds to support medical device production, engineering changes, and new mold development. Job Requirements 5+ years of experience with machine tools, mold design, and mold fabrication Strong mathematical skills related to part geometry and trigonometry Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with ERP or MRP systems Experience setting up and operating tool room equipment, including CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, and EDM Experience machining mold components to tight tolerances Knowledge of steel types such as H13, stainless steel, S7, and P20, including hardness considerations and machining strategy selection Experience fabricating mold components such as cores, cavities, and ejector systems Preferred Skills Technical trade school certification Basic SolidWorks experience Experience with Mastercam Experience with hyperMILL Experience supporting mold quoting and manufacturability review Experience in medical device manufacturing Experience with preventive maintenance and mold repair Experience coordinating material availability with purchasing Job Responsibilities Machine, fabricate, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on injection molds Support mold performance, engineering changes, and new mold development Provide technical input on mold designs and manufacturability during quoting Collaborate with cross-functional teams on routing, planning, work instructions, problem solving, and mold/component expediting Record and log work time accurately to assigned jobs Develop work plans, identify risks, set priorities, establish milestones, assess progress, and escalate delivery issues Determine machining strategies and equipment based on steel type and hardness Set up and operate CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, and EDM equipment Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and written or verbal instructions to machine mold components accurately Fabricate mold components including cores, cavities, and ejector systems Perform finish machining and grinding to required dimensions and specifications Operate all equipment safely and according to established standards Monitor incoming components for assigned molds and coordinate with purchasing to maintain material availability aligned to job schedules

Pay:
