We have an exciting opportunity for you to join West Valley Medical Center which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Job Summary and Qualifications •Participates in the assessment process of the assigned patients. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining vital signs, intake and output, weights, and psychosocial information related to assigned critical care patients. Performs activities of daily living for assigned patients. This includes, but is not limited to, bathing, dressing, oral and denture care, toileting, meal set-up, feeding and assisting with feeding, passive and active range of motion, transfers and ambulation of critical care patients. Intermediate level of performance with competency includes performing finger stick blood sugar testing utilizing aseptic and sterile technique. Monitors and observes throughout care for any unusual outcomes or occurrences and reports such observations following the chain of command. Documents all care and obtained information appropriately and accurately in the medical record. Provides a thorough and organized report to team members regarding patient status through established unit report system. Safely and effectively performs cardiac monitoring including but not limited to 1) monitoring alarms at central monitoring station; 2) identifying lethal arrhythmias/abnormal rhythms; 3) running rhythm strips and posting in charts per CCU policy and 4) application of EKG/telemetry leads. Demonstrates an awareness of and competence in ensuring patient safety, including medical/healthcare error reporting, interdisciplinary collaborative team approach to patient care planning, fall prevention measures on the unit, restraint alternatives, restraint patient checks, infant abduction prevention and response, and inpatient suicide precautions.
