Airfield Management Services, 14th Flying Training Wing Job Summary Avyon Consulting Group is seeking an Airfield Manager to lead airfield management operations at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi and Gunshy Auxiliary Airfield. You will oversee all airfield management functions supporting the 14th Flying Training Wing's mission-critical operational environment, ensuring strict adherence to FAA and DoD safety and regulatory requirements. Columbus AFB supports over 260 daily sorties producing approximately 475 pilots annually. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all airfield management and operations support functions Conduct and oversee daily airfield inspections and discrepancy reporting across Columbus AFB and Gunshy Auxiliary Airfield Manage NOTAM coordination and airfield status reporting Ensure airfield safety and compliance with FAA and DoD requirements Coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC), Civil Engineering (CE), and other base stakeholders Oversee the airfield driving program and vehicle operations in the controlled movement area Lead emergency response coordination for aircraft incidents on the airfield Manage wildlife hazard management coordination and BASH program operations, including use of firearms and deterrent devices Monitor and report on airfield lighting, pavements, and markings to ensure safe operations Supervise Airfield Management Operations Managers and Shift Leads Coordinate airfield construction, maintenance activities, and runway condition assessments Ensure operational readiness for exercises, inspections, and contingency operations Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of airfield management or airport operations experience Prior experience as an Airfield Manager or Duty Manager at a FAR 139 airport or military airfield Knowledge of FAA regulations, USAF airfield management directives, and DoD safety requirements Experience with BASH programs, wildlife control, and firearms Experience with NOTAM systems, airfield lighting, NAVAIDS, and pavement assessments Ability to work irregular hours and rotating shifts Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications Prior military airfield management experience (AFSC 1C7X1) Experience at an AETC or UPT base (Columbus, Laughlin, Vance, Sheppard) Experience managing contractor airfield management operations under an AMS contract Experience at Columbus AFB or familiarity with 14th FTW operations Why Join Avyon Avyon Consulting Group is an SBA 8(a) certified defense company delivering mission-critical support to the Department of Defense.
