Flying Training Wing Job Summary:

Avyon Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Program Manager to serve as the Site Lead for an Airfield Management Services (AMS) contract supporting the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Columbus AFB is home to one of the busiest military airfield operations in the world, supporting Undergraduate Pilot Training with over 260 daily sorties and approximately 475 pilot graduates annually. This is a senior leadership position overseeing all contract personnel providing airfield management, inspections, safety, emergency response, and airfield operations support in compliance with FAA and Department of Defense requirements. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact between Avyon and government leadership at the 14th Flying Training Wing and 14th Contracting Squadron Manage all day-to-day airfield management contract operations Ensure all personnel, supervision, and support necessary to perform airfield/airport management functions are maintained Oversee daily airfield inspections and discrepancy reporting Ensure NOTAM coordination and airfield status reporting are conducted accurately and timely Ensure strict adherence to airfield safety and compliance with FAA and DoD requirements Coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC), Civil Engineering (CE), and other base stakeholders Oversee emergency response coordination for aircraft incidents Manage wildlife hazard management coordination and BASH program Monitor airfield lighting, pavements, and markings to ensure operational readiness Manage contract budget, labor hours, staffing, and resource allocation Prepare contract deliverables, performance reports, and quality documentation Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in military aviation operations, airfield management, or airport operations 5+ years of program or project management experience on government contracts Prior experience managing teams of 10+ personnel in an airfield or aviation environment Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, USAF airfield management directives, and DoD safety requirements Active Secret security clearance US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications Prior military service in an Air Force Operations Support Squadron, Airfield Operations Flight, or equivalent Experience managing contracts at AETC (Air Education and Training Command) bases Experience at Columbus AFB or another UPT base (Laughlin, Vance, Sheppard) PMP certification Prior experience as a contractor site lead or deputy program manager on an AMS contract Why Join Avyon Avyon Consulting Group is an SBA 8(a) certified defense company delivering mission-critical support to the Department of Defense.
