Primary Purpose:
Provide targeted academic intervention and instructional support to students through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Support student achievement by delivering evidence-based interventions, monitoring progress, collaborating with teachers and families, and assisting campuses in implementing intervention systems with fidelity.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in assigned subject Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of MTSS framework and intervention systems Knowledge of evidence-based reading and math interventions Ability to analyze student data and monitor progress Knowledge of mClass, Bluebonnet Reading, Eureka Math, Boost Reading, Boost Math, Lexia Core5, and Math Catalyst preferred Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
Experience:
Five years teaching experience in subject area assigned Experience working with intervention programs and small-group instruction preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Intervention Support:
Provide evidence-based interventions for students identified through MTSS processes. Deliver Tier II and Tier III interventions in reading and/or math. Utilize district-approved intervention programs including Boost Reading, Boost Math, Lexia Core5, and Math Catalyst. Support students through targeted small-group and individualized instruction. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data. Reinforce and connect intervention instruction to Tier I classroom instruction. Data and Progress Monitoring Assist with BOY, MOY, and EOY screening processes using mClass. Maintain accurate intervention documentation and progress monitoring records. Analyze intervention data to identify trends and student needs. Participate in campus MTSS meetings and problem-solving discussions. Communicate student progress with teachers, administrators, and families. Instructional Strategies Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with Tier I instruction. Support implementation of district instructional programs including Bluebonnet Reading and Eureka Math. Assist with intervention scheduling and student grouping. Support campus goals related to student achievement and growth. Build positive relationships with students and families. Participate in professional learning and ongoing MTSS training. Other Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and documents required. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Support and follow district administrative procedures and Board policies. Represent Santa Fe ISD in a positive and professional manner. Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information. Perform other duties as assigned.
Facilitation Duties:
Implementation and Oversight:
MTSS Coordinators manage the MTSS process at the school level, and they collaborate with leadership at the district level. MTSS Coordinators work closely with teachers and campus administrators to ensure that interventions are applied consistently and effectively across classrooms. They assist in developing and monitoring intervention plans for students who require additional academic or behavioral support, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Work to ensure that the MTSS process is implemented with fidelity and consistency throughout the school campus. Assist with school-wide reform initiatives, support professional learning communities, and when needed, provide direct classroom support through modeling, peer observations, and instructional coaching. Work closely with Special Services personnel to effectively oversee the MTSS process. As needed, contribute to the creation and implementation of Section 504 Plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning to ensure that interventions align with student needs.
NOTE:
The MTSS Coordinator plays a critical role in facilitating interventions, monitoring student progress, and supporting educators and families to improve academic and behavioral outcomes for all students.
