Job Description
Markman Peat Corp. is a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of soils, premium soils, decorative rock and mulch to the Lawn and Garden Industry.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION A
Mulch Coloring Operator is responsible for producing colored mulch products by operating specialized equipment, following precise recipes, and ensuring product quality meets company standards. Will operate a front-end loader equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop which is used to transport aggregate or other materials, feed hoppers or chutes, and/or stockpile aggregates. Essential duties and responsibilities Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations. Identify and resolve equipment issues; make necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Maintain a clean & safe environment. Identify and report damage or safety concerns to managers and supervisors. Other duties as may be assigned. Ability to perform duties independently or in teams, as required. Operate the equipment over rocky or uneven land safely. Drive smoothly under harsh weather conditions. Qualification requirements High School diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years of age or older Proven experience as Loader Operator with 2 or more years of experience High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; understand and promote a safe work environment Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner Physical demands andREQUIREMENTS
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck Able to work 4 - 10-hour days with occasional overtime Ability to be flexible in work performed and scheduled Regularly lift/shovel up to 50 pounds and be able to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn and pivot for short periods of time Having good eye-hand-foot coordination Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season To read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instruction Previous manufacturing or equipment operation experience is an assetNote:
