Multiple Pathways Secretary (52 Week Position) Central Commons
POSITION
This 52-week position provides secretarial services for the Multiple Pathways programs within the district, including Adult Education, Viceroy, Early Childhood Special Education, Shared Services, Juvenile Day Treatment, and the virtual learning program. The schedule for this position requires night and evening hours.
BEGINNING DATE
July 1, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a High School diploma, some college preferred and three to five years in general office work and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing (computer applications).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer the phone for the Multiple Pathways programs and serves as a positive public relations advocate for the school district, including dissemination of information. Greet the public as they enter Sturgis Central Commons. Register and schedule students enrolled in Multiple Pathways programs. Build and maintain master schedules in PowerSchool for Multiple Pathways programs. Input and update student data and attendance in PowerSchool for the Multiple Pathways programs. Maintain and update records and send mailings as needed. Complete State Aid membership paperwork for the September and February count days, as well as any other State Aid membership tasks that are required for this position. Process building requests. Pay bills and make deposits for the various district programs associated with the position. Manage absences and obtains coverage, as needed, for Multiple Pathways programs. Review and approve time sheets for hourly staff. Attend training and workshops as necessary. Work with PowerSchool daily Order office and classroom supplies as needed. Possess basic knowledge of night GED and Adult Education programs in order to answer questions that come in during the day. Other duties as assigned.
PAY:
$15.00/hour

SUMMARY:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents or employees of organization. Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Knowledge of basic accounting and principles of office budgeting. Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Ability to operate office machines and personal computer and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
