Music Director Oakland, FL 34787 Full-time Full-time The Music Director is a Full Time Position. The Music Director (MD) helps lead the musical culture of Lakeside by providing strong musical leadership for worship environments across the church. This role supports the Worship Director by ensuring bands are prepared, unified, and musically excellent so that every environment can confidently lead people in worship. The MD will lead and play in multiple environments including weekend services, Students, Oasis, staff gatherings, and special events, while also helping raise up and develop new musicians within the church. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Musical Leadership Provide musical direction for bands across Lakeside environments including Sundays, Students, Oasis, staff meetings, and special events. Lead band in rehearsals and services by guiding arrangements, transitions, dynamics, and musical flow. Ensure bands are unified in timing, structure, and execution. Maintain a high level of musical excellence while creating a healthy, encouraging team culture. Service & Set Preparation Collaborate with the Worship Director on song arrangements, keys, structure, and musical transitions to support the flow and vision of each service. Build and prepare intentional, engaging worship sets that help create powerful and distraction-free worship environments. Oversee the building and organization of Ableton sessions for services and events, including tracks, stems, clicks, cues, and song structure. Ensure Ableton sessions, musical resources, and arrangements are prepared and communicated to the team ahead of rehearsals. Ensure musicians are equipped with charts, tracks, and any needed musical resources. Communicate clearly with musicians regarding expectations and musical direction. Maintain consistency and organization within Ableton, PCO, and Dropbox, so teams across environments can execute services smoothly. Live Direction Support the vocal leader so they can focus on leading the congregation. Direct bands during services through cues, count-ins, transitions, and musical adjustments when needed. Team Development Invest in developing and training musicians within the church. Identify and help grow emerging instrumentalists. Provide coaching and feedback to help team members improve musically and spiritually. Serving Across Environments Play regularly in weekend services and other worship environments as needed. Support worship moments for special events, staff gatherings, and ministry-specific environments. Help ensure consistency in culture across all Lakeside worship teams. Culture & Collaboration Model Lakeside's culture of humility, excellence, and servant leadership. Work closely with the Worship Director, worship leaders, and production teams to create cohesive worship experiences. Contribute to a healthy and unified worship team culture. Experience and Skills Required Strong musicianship and experience playing in a live band environment. Ability to lead and direct musicians clearly and confidently. Familiarity with modern worship music and arrangements. Strong relational skills and a heart for developing others. Strong organizational and communication skills. Alignment with the vision, culture, and values of Lakeside Church.
