Full-time Background:
PKL Services will be providing contractor Organizational Level (O-Level) and Intermediate Level (I-level) maintenance in support to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2nd MAW) squadrons at MCAS New River, NC.
Job Description:
The Aircraft Mechanic II (Flight Line) inspects, repairs and replaces aircraft engines, engine components, auxiliary power units, fuel system components, propellers, gearboxes and flight control components. This mechanic also troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft engines, auxiliary power units, fuel system, and prop/propeller systems.
Additional duties include:
Assists in the aircraft launch and recovery cycles in support of the daily flight schedule. As a qualified plane captain, inspects aircraft by accomplishing and documenting daily, pre-fight and post flight inspections. Performs both unscheduled and scheduled maintenance to include periodic, hourly, calendar and conditional inspections. Performs hot and cold refueling of aircraft. Corrosion prevention and treatment on squadron aircraft. Acts as a qualified director, walker or brake rider in the towing of aircraft. Services engines and airframe components at the organizational echelon level while making repairs, short of overhaul, to keep the aircraft in safe operating condition. Ensuring that proper safety procedures and precautions are followed on the flight line and in hanger deck areas. The licensed operation of support equipment to facilitate on and off aircraft maintenance. Accurately documenting all accomplished maintenance via Nalcomis/OOMA automated system. Responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Any and all other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Site Manager.
Required education/skills background:
High School Diploma or equivalent. May require a minimum of three (3) years' USN/USMC/USAF Organizational level aircraft maintenance experience for the V-22 aircraft to meet established experience thresholds. Past experience in troubleshooting engines, APU, secondary power and airframe related systems to the V-22 series aircraft. Within 90 days of hiring, applicants will be required to have the technical ability to qualify as a MV-22 Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI). Within 90 days of hiring, must be proficient with
NALCOMIS OOMA
automated maintenance documentation system. Must be familiar with all flight line "O" level publications relevant to the MV-22 aircraft. Must possess the ability to perform all flight line mechanic designated tasks as outlined in the Interactive Electronic Maintenance Manual (IETM). Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thoughts in both oral and written communications. Working knowledge of the
CNAFINST 4790.2
(NAMP), Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures (NAMSOPs) and local NAMPSOP instructions. Experience in the use and care of power tools, testing equipment and precision measuring devices in the maintenance and repair of aircraft. This position will require U.S. citizenship and the eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance. Corrosion Cart Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Primarily in a workshop and or the flight line ramp/apron in high noise areas. Ability to both sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Normal color perception required. The noise level in the workshop is moderate but high on the ramp/apron.
