Comprehensive non-medical counseling services consists of individual, couple, family and group sessions. ~ Provide services to clients th address emotional problems, behavioral problems, life stressors, domestic abuse, child abuse, and problemic sexual behaviors in children and youth (PSB-CY). ~ Conduct psychosocial assessments with individuals, couples and families and make recommendions for services. Include client in service plan development. Exercise clinical judgment to apply expertise in conducting initial assessments to mch the client¿s needs to the most approprie resources. Conduct ongoing risk assessment and conduct immedie safety planning. Report any suspected child abuse and/or domestic abuse as required by policy and manded by law. ~ Facilite psycho-educional groups, classes, and workshops th focus on both prevention and intervention with child abuse, domestic abuse, and PSB-CY.
Topics may include:
anger management, relionship skill-building, effective and healthy communicion, and understanding and elimining power and control. ~ Plan, develop, and implement services and initiives designed to foster positive healthy relionships within the family structure. Develop and maintain professional standards of service, community referral resources, and maintain a close network with the clinical staff and other service providers. ~ Complete and maintain approprie documention reled to: intake paperwork, screening tools, risk assessments, safety plans, clinical counseling notes, individualized service plans, clinical case management, colleral notes, contact details, and other documention as required by FAP policy. ~ Participe in the confidential Clinical Case Staff Meeting (CCSM), which provides clinical recommendions for supportive services, non-medical counseling for victims of child abuse, domestic abuse, or PSB-CY, coordined case management including risk assessment, ongoing monitoring of child abuse and domestic abuse victims¿ safety, clinical intervention, and approprie service delivery for alleged abusers who are eligible for services the military trement facility. ~ Prepare and participe in the administrive process of the Incident Determinion Committee (IDC). Communice the IDC incident stus determinion to commanders and others who have a "need to know" stus. ~ Provide direct services to include screening, assessment, non-medical counseling, safety planning, and referrals with children exhibiting and those impacted by PSB-CY as well as to the family members. Participe in and provide input to the PSB-CY multi-disciplinary team and tend monthly case review meetings. Maintain case records and track stistical da in accordance with Limits of Confidentiality, Privacy Act, and higher headquarters policy. ~ Establish and maintain command and military community relionships. Collabore with other military agencies to support and meet client needs. Coordine with military investigive agencies, military and local civilian law enforcement agencies, and civilian child welfare agencies in response to reports of child abuse incidents. ~ Provide World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assist customers and communice positively in a friendly manner. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alert the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. ~ Adhere to safety regulions and standards. Use required safety equipment and observe safe work procedures. Promptly report any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupional illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immedie supervisor. ~ Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program and prevention of sexual harassment. ~ Perform other reled duties as assigned. This position may require a fluctuing work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours (to include weekends as necessary). EVALUATIONS
Qualificions ~ A Master's or Doctoral-level degree from a college or university with a program nionally accredited in: social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or other approprie human service and/or mental health professional degree. ~ Ability to obtain supervision th applied towards their licensure under an approved supervision plan as required by the ste licensing board from which they are seeking licensure, and meet any applicable requirements reled to credentialing and privileging in accordance with Service FAP headquarters policies. Hiring program does not guarantee program supervision hours applicable towards ste licensure. ~ Licensure/certificion shall be completed within a 36 month period. ~ Experience working or serving as a volunteer or intern in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse, or with contemporary social issues involving families. ~ One year experience in or ability to obtain, within 1 year of employment, training in all of the following: PSB-CY, child and adolescent development, and trauma-informed care. ~ Knowledge of civilian and military legal informion pertaining to family relionships and laws protecting children and elders. Must have knowledge of the professional ethics when working with individuals, couples, groups, child, and families. Working 10-15-2020 knowledge of the Uniform Code of Military Justice as reled to domestic abuse and child abuse is preferred. ~ Strong case management skills to include: maintain accure and timely documention of records and case files is preferred. Ensure a smooth implemention and continuum of care, develop and maintain knowledge of referral sources, collabore and coordine with other internal departments, outside agencies, and commanders (if indiced) to ensure th client is receiving the most approprie services is preferred. ~ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is preferred. ~ Must be supervised by the tier III FAP Manager or a FAP Clinical Supervisor and involved in a professional development plan. ~ Knowledge of the military structure and the military environment is preferred. ~ In accordance with DoDI 1402.5, FAP personnel who provide services to children under 18 years of age subject to a favorable NAC Backgrounds and Security Investigion every five years in order to protect the health, safety, and well-being of children.
