Job Description
Job Overview Join our team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Ambulatory DRIVER and play a vital role in providing safe, reliable transportation for patients requiring assistance to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who depend on accessible transportation services. As an NEMT Ambulatory DRIVER, you will be the friendly face and dependable driver ensuring punctuality, comfort, and safety for every passenger you serve. Responsibilities Safely operate vehicles such as vans, shuttle buses, or limousines to transport ambulatory patients to and from medical facilities and other destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing compassionate customer service and ensuring their comfort. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to guarantee safety standards are met at all times. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps, adhering to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times. Communicate clearly with dispatchers, patients, and healthcare staff to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and special instructions. Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist passengers with mobility devices or luggage. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle condition reports in compliance with company policies. Requirements Valid driver's license appropriate for commercial or passenger vehicle operation; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required. Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, healthcare providers, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist passengers with mobility challenges. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Prior experience in paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus.
