About the Role We are seeking a skilled and innovative Network Engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about delivering high-performing technology solutions. In this pivotal role, you will design, implement, manage, and optimize the network and server infrastructure supporting the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Your work will directly influence reliability, cybersecurity, and operational excellence across the Tribal Government. Preference shall be given in accordance with Title 33 (Tribal Employment Rights) of the Tribal Code What You'll Do
  • Design, deploy, and maintain network switches, routers, wireless systems, and firewalls
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and system reliability
  • Manage enterprise servers (physical & virtual), SAN storage, and backup solutions
  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments, risk mitigation, and firewall configuration
  • Maintain disaster recovery readiness and infrastructure documentation
  • Support secure remote access and quality network performance across facilities
  • Manage vendor relationships and technology procurement
  • Provide escalation support and mentorship to junior technical staff
  • Participate in on-call rotation for urgent network needs
  • Continuously evaluate and implement emerging technologies
  • Other related duties as assigned What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field — Equivalent experience (additional 4+ years) may substitute for degree
  • CCNA certification required ; additional technical certifications strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in complex network engineering environments
  • Proven experience with enterprise firewalls, wireless infrastructure, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), SANs, and backup systems
  • Strong knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity practices
  • Ability to work outside normal hours when necessary
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Must pass all required background checks Core Strengths

  • Skilled in network monitoring tools, performance tuning, and QoS
  • Strong documentation, organization, and compliance discipline
