Syvex Systems is looking for an experienced Lead Network Infrastructure Technician to oversee and perform low-voltage, structured cabling, and network infrastructure installation work in active retail environments. This position is for a reliable, professional technician who can lead small crews, manage daily site progress, communicate clearly with project contacts, and ensure work is completed correctly, safely, and on schedule. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cat6 cabling, network drops, patch panels, rack work, cable routing, labeling, testing, and retail/commercial installation standards. The Lead Technician will be responsible for guiding helper technicians, reading work scopes, completing assigned installation tasks, documenting progress, and making sure the job site is left clean and professional each shift.Responsibilities:
Lead and assist with low-voltage and network infrastructure installations Pull, route, dress, label, terminate, and test Cat6 cabling Install and support network drops, faceplates, jacks, patch panels, and related infrastructure Work inside MDF/IDF rooms, ceilings, sales floors, and back-of-house areas Read and follow project scopes, site instructions, prints, and work orders Direct helper technicians and keep the crew productive throughout the shift Communicate daily progress, issues, and material needs to management Take clear job photos and provide proper closeout documentation Maintain a clean and safe work area during overnight retail work Use ladders, lifts, carts, and jobsite equipment safely and professionally Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, labeling, and basic network infrastructure issues Represent Syvex Systems professionally with store contacts, vendors, and project partnersRequirements:
Previous low-voltage, structured cabling, telecom, or network installation experience Ability to lead a small crew and keep work moving without constant supervision Experience terminating and testing Cat5e/Cat6 cabling Comfortable working overnight shifts in active retail environments Ability to read basic scopes of work, floor plans, and site instructions Must have reliable transportation to job sites Must have basic hand tools for low-voltage/network installation work Must be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly Must be able to lift, carry, climb ladders, and work on your feet for long shifts Must follow safety standards and maintain a professional appearance on sitePreferred Experience:
Retail rollout or commercial installation experience MDF/IDF cleanup or buildout experience Patch panel termination and rack/cabinet work Network troubleshooting experience Experience leading helper technicians or small crews Familiarity with overnight project schedules and closeout requirementsWork Environment:
This role involves working primarily overnight in active commercial retail locations. Technicians may be working around store employees, customers, lifts, carts, fixtures, ceiling grids, network rooms, and active construction or remodel areas.
