Neutron Scattering Studies of Superconductivity and Magnetism NIST, United States about 18 hours ago
Location:
Gaithersburg, MARYLAND NIST only participates in the February and August reviews. Neutron scattering techniques are used to investigate a variety of superconducting and magnetic materials. Areas of exploration include, but are not limited to: For superconductors, magnetic ordering and magnetic excitations in superconductors, direct observation of vortex lattices, determination of the London penetration depth by reflectometry, and lattice dynamics of superconductors. For magnetic systems, topics include magnetic and structural properties of topolgoical magnets and skyrmions, magnetoresistive oxides, multiferroics, magnetocaloric materials, magnetic phase transitions and spin wave excitations in antiferromagnets, ferromagnets, and frustrated magnets.
