Job Description

Night Monitor
Summary:
The purpose of the Night Monitor position is to coordinate and manage client care services. He/She will be responsible for reviewing and documenting services provided. He/she will be in compliance with all guidelines imposed by the Department of Corrections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a range of activities, including headcounts; tours; maintenance of sign in/out log; security reports; monitoring of self administration of medication; scanning of documents into client files through the client electronic record.; conduct and document facility drills; secure client toxicology screens; verification of client passes; maintain communication with on call supervisor and on call Parole Officer; coordination and development of client schedules; report and document all facility and grounds maintenance issues; lunch distribution to employed clients; distribution and monitoring of offender morning meal. Compliance with all Department of Corrections policies and protocols as outlined in the Residential Providers Manual. Attend all mandatory staff meetings. Compliance with all mandatory staff training requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of:
Operations of a Department of Corrections Community Release Program. General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite Ability to: Interact effectively with representative of funding sources and referral agencies. Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Manage priorities to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.•Work and make decisions independently.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent Experience within the criminal justice environment Satisfactory completion of the introductory employment period Prefer, but not required a degree in criminal justice, human services or a related field.
Other:
Must be: ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable and detailed oriented. Must be able to interface easily with clients, staff, and other management. Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pounds objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
