As a well-established pathology laboratory, we proudly serve a broad network of healthcare providers across multiple states through advanced technology, clinical excellence, and a dedicated team of professionals. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Night Shift Lead Histology Technician to join our high-volume laboratory team in Eustis, Florida. This leadership role is ideal for a skilled histology professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of laboratory quality, operational efficiency, and patient care. As the Night Shift Lead, you will oversee evening histology operations, supervise technical staff, ensure timely slide preparation, and support accurate diagnostic outcomes for our pathologists and clients. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise night-shift histotechnologists and laboratory support staff Perform routine histology procedures, including embedding, microtomy, staining (H&E, special stains, and IHC), and slide preparation Ensure accurate and timely processing and delivery of slides to pathologists Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and inventory supplies Enforce quality assurance, safety standards, and regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA, OSHA) Train, mentor, and support team members in laboratory procedures and best practices Troubleshoot technical issues and improve workflow efficiency Review daily workload, maintain documentation, and prepare shift reports Collaborate closely with pathologists and day-shift leadership to ensure seamless operations Qualifications HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on histology experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Advanced expertise in embedding, microtomy, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) Strong understanding of histology laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory standards Ability to work independently with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field preferred Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation with night-shift differential pay Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Generous paid time off and paid holidays Continuing education and professional development support Opportunity to work in a modern, state-of-the-art laboratory environment Join a respected and growing organization focused on excellence in patient care Join Our Team If you are a dedicated histology professional with leadership experience and a passion for excellence, we invite you to become part of our growing team.
