Basic Function:

Under the direction of the Maintenance, Operations & Transportation Manager, within a framework of standard policies and procedures, clean and maintain classrooms, offices and other locations and facilities; assure security of facilities during assigned hours. Essential Duties Clean classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and other facilities during assigned shift: sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors and vacuum rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, and other work areas. Assure security of the facility during assigned hours; lock and unlock gates, doors and windows as needed; monitor facilities for hazards and report to appropriate personnel as required. Ensure assigned work orders, requests and schedules are documented, closed, or responded to properly within the electronic system's parameters. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annually scheduled task lists as attached and assigned. Understand and apply best practices for cleaning, scrubbing, sanitizing and disinfecting student and staff restrooms, offices, classrooms, athletics spaces, and drinking fountains. Adjust and arrange furniture and equipment; set up school facilities for special events and meetings; take down equipment after games as directed. Operate and maintain a variety of custodial equipment including but not limited to bathroom kit, vacuum cleaner, mops, floor buffer, pressure washer, and other misc. equipment as assigned and necessary to perform job duties. Respond to emergency clean-up need as requested. Assist with minor paint activities as directed. Maintain routine records related as directed. Perform related duties as assigned. Knowledge Of

• Modern cleaning methods and industry best practices for cleaning and preserving floors, walls and fixtures and surrounding areas.
• Cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work.
• Requirements for maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
• Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Proper PPE usage and requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED Licenses & Other Requirements
• Ability to be certified to operate a forklift and a scissor lift,
• Valid CA driver's license
• Ability to be certified in CPR and 1st Aid Working Conditions
• Indoor and outdoor environment.
• Subject to noise from equipment operation.
• Regular exposure to fumes, dust, and dirt. Physical Demands
