Job Description
The Prior Authorization Clerk is responsible for obtaining Prior Authorizations for the Hospital and all NLHD Clinics. It necessary to be organized, task oriented, multitask, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Calling insurance companies and describing details such as CPT codes and diagnosis to obtain a successful Prior Authorizations. Research and conduct outreach via phone or fax to obtain additional information to process coverage requests and complete all necessary actions to close cases. Work closely with providers to process prior authorization (PA). Escalate issues of coverage determination to clinical providers and management team as needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills Monitor and maintain Prior Auth Write Off Goalsuthorizations.
