Educate patients on the imaging procedures, answer questions within the scope of practice, and obtain patient consent. Perform IV placement and administer radiopharmaceutical injections under the direction of the Physician or other qualified medical personnel. Complete patient imaging using radiation-detecting instrumentation, monitor patient reaction to the isotope, and process the computer and image enhancement. Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the Physician for diagnostic interpretation. Perform quarterly self-audits and comply with accreditation requirements as determined by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Establish QC and QI protocols and perform QC testing on the advanced medical equipment used in the department. Work with the Nuclear Engineer to maintain and ensure the instrumentation functions. Properly document spills or maladministered injections and submit to the state when needed. Follow radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure departmental staff and patient safety, and that state and NRC regulations are met for proper documentation and handling and disposing of radioactive materials. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, in accordance with internal and legal regulations. Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization. Perform other duties assigned by management. Education And Experience Associate degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, NMT certification required Minimum 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to utilize computer programs Current CPR and ACLS Certifications required Join General Physician, P.C., and make a difference in the lives of patients while advancing your career!
