Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including medical-surgical, ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient care. This role involves providing high-quality patient care through assessments, medication administration, diagnostic evaluations, and coordination of treatment plans. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred. The Nurse will work in a dynamic environment that values professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations. Perform invasive procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations (including Foley and urinary catheters), suturing, tube feeding, and ostomy care. Manage airway devices including ventilators and assist with respiratory support as needed. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner. Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests (phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing), medical imaging (sonography, mammography), and other diagnostic procedures. Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care (ICU experience), trauma medicine (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), post-acute care including hospice & palliative medicine, Alzheimer's/dementia care, memory care, behavioral health, and geriatrics. Support discharge planning and case management to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to patients' needs across pediatric to adult populations including neonatal ventilator management and Toddler care. Maintain infection control standards and adhere to OSHA guidelines for sterile processing and aseptic techniques. Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication management, nutrition, family planning, and disease prevention strategies. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including
HIPAA, NCQA
standards for quality assurance, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and documentation of medical records. Requirements Valid nursing license in the state of practice with current registration. Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine (including emergency room experience), outpatient clinics, home & community care (home care), or long-term care facilities like nursing homes or assisted living communities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, pharmacology related to medication administration and IV infusion therapies. Ability to perform complex procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary/vascular), tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and infection control protocols. Experience working with vulnerable populations such as children (pediatric/neonatal/infant care), elderly (geriatrics/dementia/dementia & Alzheimer's care), or individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is preferred. Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center exposure is advantageous; familiarity with Level I & II Trauma Centers is a plus. Skills in triage assessment for urgent & emergent situations; capable of managing acute pain and infectious disease cases effectively. Knowledge of medical imaging modalities such as sonography or mammography is beneficial for specialized roles. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; commitment to maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
