SUMMARY OF POSITION

Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Works in an inpatient critical care area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

(S): Either Master's Degree in a Critical Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one (1) year CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in applicable specialty) required and three (3) years critical care experience as a staff nurse required; or Master's Degree in a General Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one (1) year CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in applicable specialty) and five (5) years critical care experience as a staff nurse required. National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse required. Current license to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) certifications required.
