Job Description

Category Nursing - RN - Other Job Type Contract Step into a vital patient care leadership role, coordinating and delivering high-quality support for mothers and newborns in a high-acuity environment. This 13-week contract position is ideal for registered nurses with experience caring for at-risk mothers and babies, bringing their dedication and advanced skill set to a rewarding night shift schedule.
Schedule:
36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts 7:00 pm - 7:30 am Every other weekend required
Qualifications:
Valid RN license with experience in Mother Baby nursing Previous employment in a high-risk facility is required Current BLS and NRP certifications Skilled in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care Confidence in managing nurse-to-patient ratios up to 1:5 Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities Proactive, with curiosity and a habit for asking thoughtful questions Effective communicator, able to share critical information with healthcare teams and families Self-starter able to adapt in a high-pressure, patient-centered setting
Role Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee compassionate, evidence-based care for mothers and newborns Engage in comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Document care thoroughly and communicate changes promptly to the care team Educate patients and families while providing emotional support throughout their hospital stay Participate in patient care conferences to solve challenges and support continuous improvement Delegate and supervise care as appropriate, ensuring team members are well-informed Uphold standards for patient safety and infection prevention This contract offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-risk maternal and newborn care setting.
