Job Description

The Nursing Quality & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining current nursing policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting investigations related to resident and staff concerns. This position supports the Director of Nursing in quality assurance, risk management, and survey readiness. The role ensures that nursing operations meet State and Federal regulatory requirements and align with professional standards of practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are primarily performed, and which are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Review, revise, and maintain nursing department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies align with CMS regulations, State requirements, and county standards.
  • Communicate policy updates and ensure staff understanding and implementation.
  • Conduct timely investigations into resident incidents, grievances, and concerns.
  • Investigate staff‑related issues within the nursing department.
  • Prepare written investigative reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Social Services, and Administration on investigations and follow‑up.
  • Track trends in incidents, grievances, and survey citations.
  • Participate in QAPI meetings and initiatives.
  • Assist with survey preparation and accompany surveyors as needed.
  • Maintain logs and tracking systems for incidents, grievances, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with facility policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide education to staff regarding policy changes and compliance requirements.
  • Support continuous quality improvement efforts within the nursing department.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and regulatory readiness.
