Job Description

Purpose of Position The Nursing Staff Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. This position oversees the CNA training program, coordinates new employee orientation, and ensures ongoing staff competency through structured training initiatives. The Nursing Staff Educator ensures all training programs comply with State and Federal regulations and support high‑quality resident care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and teach the State‑approved CNA training curriculum. Conduct skills labs, competency testing, and certification documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate training records for survey readiness and compliance. Plan, schedule, and deliver annual mandatory trainings, including infection control, abuse prevention, dementia care, and emergency preparedness. Provide targeted education based on quality indicators, incident trends, and staff performance needs. Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation for all nursing staff. Validate clinical competencies and provide follow‑up coaching for new hires. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to identify training needs and develop educational materials. Ensure all training programs align with current State and Federal guidelines. Assist with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives through education‑based interventions. Participate in survey preparation and staff readiness activities. Promote a positive, professional, and accountable learning environment. Support staff development and encourage professional growth within the nursing team. Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate from an NLN‑accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably in long‑term care.
  • Experience in staff education or training preferred.
