Part Time Position:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating volunteer activities and supporting the implementation of a comprehensive volunteer program throughout the agency. This position recruits, onboards, trains, and supports volunteers while helping to create service opportunities that align with the mission of Sid Jacobson JCC. The Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for volunteers, community partners and service groups and assists with community-wide days of service, volunteer recognition efforts, and volunteer data tracking. The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-oriented, and passionate about engaging individuals and groups in meaningful service experiences. Someone with an HR background will excel at this role. Volunteer Recruitment and Placement Assist in developing and implementing volunteer recruitment strategies. Recruit, interview, place, support volunteers in appropriate opportunities throughout agency. Build relationships with community groups to expand volunteer participation. Coordinate youth, family, adult, and group volunteer opportunities. Support volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives. Respond to volunteer inquiries and match volunteers with meaningful service opportunities. Volunteer Administration Maintain volunteer records and database systems including volunteer profiles, schedules, service hours, and participation reports. Develop and maintain volunteer position descriptions and volunteer program materials. Process volunteer onboarding requirements including applications, background checks, orientations, identification badges, and related documentation. Ensure volunteer files and records are accurate, complete, and compliant with agency policies. Generate reports and statistics related to volunteer engagement and impact. Training and Support Conduct volunteer orientations and trainings. Provide ongoing support and communication to volunteers. Assist staff in effectively integrating volunteers into programs and services. Promote a positive, welcoming volunteer experience throughout the organization. Ensure volunteers adhere to organizational policies and procedures. Community Service and Days of Service Assist in planning/ implementing community-wide service initiatives throughout year. Coordinate volunteer participation for agency service events, family volunteer programs, and community projects. Support logistics including registration, communications, supplies, and volunteer assignments. Engage community partners and volunteer leaders in support of service initiatives. Additional Responsibilities Collaborate with staff across departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities. Attend occasional evening and weekend programs and events. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. 1-3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, nonprofit administration, customer service, education, or a related field. Excellent organizational and project coordination skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems. Experience working with volunteers, community groups, schools, or nonprofit organizations preferred.
