Job Description
Position Brief Campbell County Health (CCH) is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join and help grow CCH's Department of Occupational Medicine. This position provides an exciting opportunity to care for Wyoming's workforce while partnering with local industries to promote employee health, safety, and productivity. Wyoming's expanding industrial base continues to increase the need for high-quality Occupational Medicine services. CCH is committed to meeting those needs through comprehensive workplace health programs, injury care, preventative services, and employer partnerships. The Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care in the outpatient occupational medicine setting while collaborating closely with physicians, employers, safety personnel, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently within scope of practice, communicates effectively with both patients and industry partners, and is committed to delivering efficient, evidence-based care that supports employee wellness and safe return-to-work practices. Responsibilities Provide outpatient occupational medicine services for adult workers Evaluate and treat occupational injuries and illnesses Perform pre-placement, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty examinations Conduct periodic health screenings and wellness examinations Assist with workers' compensation evaluations and documentation Develop appropriate work restrictions and return-to-work recommendations Collaborate with employers regarding employee health, workplace safety, and injury prevention strategies Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record Recognize and appropriately respond to medical emergencies in the clinic setting Order and interpret diagnostic studies including radiographs, pulmonary function testing, and audiograms as appropriate Prescribe medications and therapies consistent with scope of practice and standards of care Refer patients for specialty care, imaging, or additional testing when appropriate Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental development Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements Stay informed on current Occupational Medicine practices, OSHA guidelines, and regulatory updates Clinical Experience Preferred Experience evaluating and managing: Occupational musculoskeletal injuries Laceration repair and wound care Work-related eye injuries and chemical exposures Occupational skin conditions and rashes Respiratory complaints related to workplace exposure Minor fractures, splinting, and orthopedic referrals Workers' compensation cases and return-to-work management Corporate occupational health clinics Industrial medicine, employee health services, and workers' compensation practices/regulations Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current certification as a Physician Assistant through a nationally recognized certifying body Hold or obtain unrestricted Wyoming Physician Assistant licensure Hold or obtain unrestricted Wyoming Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure Hold or obtain unrestricted Wyoming Controlled Substance Registration Hold or obtain unrestricted DEA registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff privileges at Campbell County Health Current FMCSA certification for DOT exams preferred; ability to obtain certification required Prior Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Public Health, or Orthopedic experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required Experience with Epic preferred; proficiency in computer systems and ability to obtain Epic proficiency required Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Preference is given for candidates with additional certifications, such as NCCPA Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Occupational Medicine and/or American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Certificate of Advanced Practice Education in Occupational Health for PAs. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, workplace safety certifications, industrial hygiene training, and formal workers' compensation education are a plus Schedule Primarily outpatient clinic setting Typical Monday-Friday work schedule No routine call responsibilities anticipated
